Taft – Enrique “Ricky” Mata, Jr. passed away January 1, 2017. He was 53.

Ricky was born in Sinton, Texas on May 21, 1963 to Enrique Sr. and Matilde (Mendoza) Mata. He was a lifetime resident of Taft, Texas.

Ricky is preceded in death by his parents: Enrique Sr. and Matilde Mata; brothers Carlos Mata, Richard Mata and Rudy Mata.

Survivors include a brother: Reynaldo Mata (Gracie) of Taft, Texas; sisters: Janie Suarez (Frank) of Taft, Texas; Terry Hinojosa (Joe) of Taft, Texas; Lupe Mata of Omaha, Nebraska and Matilda Durand (George) of Corpus Christi, Texas.

A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, January 5, 2017, 11:00 AM at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton with Pastor Rubio officiating. Burial will be private.
