Taft - Manuel “Red” Naranjo passed away peacefully May 7, 2017. He was 71.
Manuel was born in Taft, Texas on August 22, 1945 to Natividad, Sr. and Laurencia (Hernandez) Naranjo. He was a lifelong resident of Taft, Texas. Red worked formerly as a farmer employed by the John McGregor Farms.
Preceding Manuel in death are his parents: Natividad, Sr. and Laurencia Naranjo; brothers: Natividad Naranjo, Jr. and Raul Naranjo; sisters: Lina Naranjo and Belen Martinez; granddaughter: Edelia Ortiz: nephew: Eddie Naranjo, Jr.; and former spouse: Edelia V. Naranjo.
Survivors include his wife: Angie Naranjo of Taft, Texas; daughters: Sulema Pena (Israel, Jr.) of Aransas Pass, Texas; Yvonne Naranjo and Yvette Naranjo of Taft, Texas; grandchildren: David Manuel Naranjo Gomez; Raul Manuel Naranjo and Juan Francisco Ortiz, III, all of Taft, Texas; brothers: Guadalupe Naranjo, Sr. (Maria) of Odem, Texas; Juan Naranjo and Viviano Naranjo, Sr. of Taft, Texas; and sister: Emma Naranjo Castro of Sinton, Texas.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 10, 2017, 5:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton. A holy rosary will be recited the same evening, 7:00 PM at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, May 11, 2017, 10:00 AM at the Immaculate Conception Church in Taft, Texas with Father Peter Stanley as celebrant. Burial will follow in Taft Memorial Park Cemetery in Taft, Texas.
