Sinton –James Burr (Jim) Flinn, aged 53, died on Thursday, July 16, 2015 in Sinton, Texas. Jim was born May 16, 1962 to John H. and Dorothy McMullen Flinn. He graduated from Sinton High School and Del Mar College. He was an 18 year employee at Valero Refinery in Corpus Christi. He lived all his life in the coastal bend. Jim was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Casey Cluiss Flinn; daughter, Megan Ranee Flinn Hill and her husband, John; sons, Hayden Cluiss Roach and his girlfriend, Miranda Lopez, and John Rees Flinn; grandsons, Ryan James Hill and Jace Thomas Hill; siblings, Beth Flinn Hudson and her husband George Schwarz, Amy Flinn and her husband Mike Finn, and Rob Flinn and his wife Gretcha; nieces, Julia and Anna Finn, Claire Hudson, Lisa Farley, Elizabeth and Natasha Flinn, and Laynie Houser; nephews Matthew Hudson, Jim Finn, Gage Sliva and Will Houser; his parents-in-law, Dennis L. and Kelly R. Cluiss; his sisters-in-law Denise Cluiss, and Holly Houser and her husband, Patrick Houser; and a host of family and friends.  Jim was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He was a steadfast and loyal friend and neighbor. He loved to hunt and fish. He loved to spend time on Texas waterways. He was a dedicated Sinton Pirate booster and member of the tunnel crew.Visitation will be at Resthaven Funeral Home, Sinton, on Sunday, July 19th from 6 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Sinton, Monday, July 20th at 11:00 a.m.  A reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Honorary Pallbearers are the members of Jim’s original HDS crew from Valero: Johnny Rushing, Jerrell Stone, Vince Gutierrez, Charlie Haggerton, and Len Jones, and Joe Gutierrez, as well as all his friends who lifted him up in life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jim Flinn Memorial Scholarship (checks payable to: Coastal Bend Community Foundation, memo: SISD – Jim Flinn Scholarship.
