I was so saddened to hear about Irma and her passing. I was her Reading Coach but more than that I considered her a friend. Irma had such a passion for her students and their well being and learning that she never mentioned her illness and never let that impede her teaching them how to read. She showed up for every session prepared to talk about how she could help them more. I will miss her devotion to her students and more importantly her outlook on life because she inspired me to be a better person when faced with difficulties. To her family, God bless each of you as you deal with this loss, but know this, Irma continues to teach little children as she resides in the Kingdom of Heaven....I just KNOW it!

Irma had a contagious smile. She has left a lasting impression upon so many. Our world is a better place because of the way she lived. She will be missed but all who put their trust in Christ will see her again. To God be the glory! Pastor Randy Samuels

I was Assistant Principal at the elementary several years ago. I loved this kind soul; she was always positive and a great inspiration to many. I am so very saddened by her passing, but after reading the article I am comforted that she is at peace. I did not know she had been sick. I know having her loved ones there was important to her. My deepest condolences.
